"The Global Development Commons is a call to the international development community to improve collaboration through the use of innovative technologies. The Commons creates opportunities to gather data, share knowledge, forge partnerships, and make better decisions."

The web site spotlights various tech-related projects focused on aid, relief and development, such as:

-- microLINKS, a knowledge sharing source of information, applications, and tools designed to improve the impact of USAID microenterprise programs and activities.

-- POPLINE is a USAID-funded database of articles, reports, books, and reports on reproductive health. Maintained since 1973, it contains nearly 360,000 records, with 12,000 records added annually. The database is updated every Monday.

-- Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET)
A USAID-funded activity that allows international, regional, and national partners to provide timely and rigorous early warning and vulnerabilityinformation on emerging and evolving food security issues. FEWS NET professionals monitor and analyze data and information to identify potential threats to food security. FEWS NET produces monthly food security updates for 25 countries, regular food security outlooks, alerts, and briefings to support contingency and response planning efforts.

a dynamic and interactive portal dedicated to connecting and strengthening NGO's, networks, and NGO support organizations worldwide. The portal offers the best tools, theoretical frameworks, innovations, and lessons learned that the NGO community, donors, and worldwide support organizations have to offer.

South East Asia HIV/AIDS Resource Exchange is a unique web portal providing practical programming information and other valuable resources related to HIV/AIDS in the greater Mekong Region.

Global Development Commons is an initiative of USAID
