RedR UK Vacancy - Learning & Development Manager (London)

Each year millions of people around the world feel the effects of natural disaster and conflict. RedR is an international charity that improves the effectiveness of disaster relief, helping save and rebuild the lives of people affected by disaster worldwide. We do this by delivering essential training and support to relief organisations and their staff, and by supplying skilled professionals to humanitarian programmes. Our work helps to ensure that the right people with the right skills are responding to global emergencies, and enables both local and international relief workers to react to the needs of those affected by disaster, efficiently and safely.
In this role, you will manage the UK general training programme including planning, budgeting and course delivery. This will involve overall coordination, production and use of training materials to ensure their consistency of use, as well as monitoring and evaluating the courses. You will oversee the roll-out and regular monitoring of Learning Needs Analysis in the humanitarian sector, represent RedR at external events, liaising with humanitarian relief agencies, donors and others to ensure that the training needs of relief workers are understood and met. In addition you will line manage the Learning Programme Officer and Training Officers, supporting their development and also oversee the co-ordination of Associate Trainers. You will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a humanitarian training environment with a focus on Adult Learning. You will have a sound knowledge, field experience and commitment to humanitarian relief. You must have demonstrable competence and enthusiasm for practical training methods, excellent interpersonal and team skills.
